जीवन की आधारशिला
होती गुरु के हाथों में
उनके वचनों को अपनाओ
राज़ है उनकी बातें में
माता, पिता और गुरु ही
सच्चे मित्र होते हैं
इनका आदर जो ना करते
वो जीवन बाजी खोते हैं
गलती पर शिक्षक जब मारे
बुरा कभी ना मानो
वो चाहे तुम बनो मेधावी
बस अच्छा बनने की ठानो
शिक्षक हमेशा यही सिखाते
मेहनत से हर एक काम करो
मुश्किल कुछ भी नहीं दुनिया में
पढ़ लिख कर सबका नाम करो
चाहे जिस मुकाम पर जाओ पहुँच
अपने टीचर को ना जाना भूल
बनेगी इनसे ही किस्मत की रेखा
बस बनकर रहना चरणों की धूल
‘दीप’ नमन है ऐसे गुरु को
भाग्य हमारा जिन्होनें संवारा
उनकी बदौलत हैं आज कुछ हम
और हम जी रहे जीवन न्यारा

भक्त कबीर दास जी ने गुरू की महत्ता को स्पष्ट करते हुए कहा है:
गुरू कुम्हार शिष्य कुम्भ है, गढ़ि गढ़ि काढ़ै खोट।
अंतर हाथ सहार दै, बाहर बाहै चोट।
गुरू एक कुम्हार के समान होता है, जो अपने शिष्य को बहार से बिल्कुल सख़्त कड़क हो कर उसे गलतियों पर दंड भी देता है तो प्यार से बाद में समझाता भी है, ताकि उसके शिष्य को संसार में लगने वाली चोट से बचा सके, अपने शिष्य समान पुत्र का जीवन सुखमय बना सके।
उन्होंने आगे भी कहा है
यह तन विष की बेलरी, गुरु अमृत की खान।
शीश दिऐ जो गुरु मिले, तो भी सस्ता जान।
भावार्थ: सन्त कबीर दास जी कहते हैं कि यह जो शरीर है वो विष अर्थात जहर से भरा हुआ है और गुरु अमृत अर्थात असंख्य गुणों का स्वामी है (पॉजिटिव एनर्जी) की खान हैं। अगर अपना शीश अर्थात यदि शिष्य अपना सिर भी दे दें इसके बदले में, एक सच्चे गुरु के लिए, तो ये बहुत सी सस्ता और अच्छा सौदा है। इतनी महिमा एक गुरु के बारे में की गई है, गुरु का दर्ज़ा बहुत ऊँचा है।
सच्चा गुरू अपने शिष्य को हर प्रकार से नाप तौल कर जीवन जीने के साथ साथ उसे भविष्य में तैयार होने वाली चुनौतियों के लिए मज़बूत करता है. ऐसा गुरु कोई भी हो सकता है. वो माँ हो सकती है, पिता, भाई, बहन, दोस्त आदि, कोई भी हो सकता है. इसलिए मैंने आरम्भ में ही कहा सच्चा गुरू ही निःस्वार्थ भावना से अपने शिष्य को योग्य बनाता है. ऐसे गुरु के लिए कोई एक दिन निश्चित करके उन्हें सम्मान देना थोड़ा सीमित लगता है, ऐसे गुरू के लिए तो जीवन का हर श्वांस समर्पित हो तो भी कम है. शिक्षक दिवस के अवसर पर समस्त शिक्षकों को हार्दिक शुभकामनाएं।

The foundation stone of life
is in the hands of the teacher
Follow his words
The secret is in his words
Mother, father and teacher are the true friends
Those who do not respect them
They lose their life
When the teacher hits you for your mistake
Never feel bad
You may be a brilliant student
Just decide to be good
Teachers always teach
Do every work with hard work
Nothing is difficult in this world
Educate and make everyone famous
Whichever height you reach
Never forget your teacher
The line of your fate will be made by them
Just be the dust of their feet
‘Deep’, I bow to such a Guru
Who shaped our destiny
It is because of him that we are what we are today
And we are living a unique life

Devotee Kabir Das Ji has explained the importance of Guru by saying:
Guru is like a potter and disciple is like a pot, he molds it and removes its flaws.
He supports from inside and hurts from outside.
Guru is like a potter, who is very strict with his disciple from outside and punishes him for his mistakes, but later explains to him with love, so that he can save his disciple from the hurts of the world and make the life of his disciple like son happy.
He has further said
This body is a creeper of poison, Guru is a mine of nectar.
Even if you give your head to get a Guru, it is considered cheap.
Meaning: Saint Kabir Das Ji says that this body is full of poison and Guru is the master of nectar i.e. innumerable virtues and a mine of positive energy. If a disciple gives his head in exchange for this, for a true Guru, then it is a very cheap and good deal. So much glory has been done about a Guru, the status of a Guru is very high.
A true Guru not only teaches his disciple to live his life after measuring it in every way but also strengthens him for the challenges of the future. Such a Guru can be anyone. It can be a mother, father, brother, sister, friend etc., anyone can be there. That is why I said in the beginning that only a true Guru makes his disciple capable with selfless spirit. To honour such a Guru by fixing a day for him seems a bit limited, even if every breath of life is dedicated for such a Guru, it is still not enough. Heartiest wishes to all the teachers on the occasion of Teacher’s Day.
