कुहू कुहू करती कोयल
गीत मधुर ये गाती
अपनी सुरीली आवाज़ से
सबके मन भा जाती
सुन के बोली कोयल की
घर बनते मीठे पकवान
सबको ये लगती प्यारी
सब करते उसका सम्मान
नहीं लगते पैसे कोई
मीठे बोल बोलने को
कोयल हमें यही सिखाती
बोलने से पहले तोलने को
सबसे प्यारी पक्षी कोयल
जहां कहीं भी जाती है
मन झूमने लगता है

कोयल
अक्सर लोग जब कोई ऐसी आवाज़ सुनते हैं जो हमारे कानों में शहद घोल देती हैं, कानों से सीधा ह्रदय के रास्ते से हो कर दिल में उतर जाता है तो, कोई भी कह उठता है, आपकी आवाज़ तो कोयल जैसी है, आप बहुत मीठा बोलते हैं, मीठा बोलती हैं, आप बहुत मीठा गाते हैं, वगैरह वगैरह। हम उस आवाज़ की उपमा एक पक्षी ने नाम पर देते हैं जिसे सारी दुनिया कोयल के नाम से जानती है। अंग्रेजी में इस पक्षी को cuckoo कहते हैं।
कौए और कोयल में शारीरिक बनावट लगभग एक ही जैसी लगती है, किन्तु इन दोनों में एक जो सबसे बड़ा अन्तर है वो है आवाज़, जी हाँ जहाँ एक ओर कौआ अपनी कर्कश आवाज़ से हर किसी के द्वारा दुत्कारा जाता है, भगाया जाता है, वहीं दूसरी तरफ़ कोयल पक्षी अपनी सुमधुर आवाज़ से समस्त जीवों और मानवजन का प्यारा बन जाता है. यूँ तो देखने में तो एक ही जैसे लगते हैं, फिर भी कौआ जहाँ लाख कोशिशों के बाद भी लोगों के दिलों में अपनी जगह नहीं बना पाता और कोयल अपनी आवाज़ से सबका प्रिय बन जाता है. यहाँ एक बात सीखने वाली है और वो यह है कि मीठी बोली हर किसी को अच्छी लगती है, कड़वी बोली किसी को अच्छी नहीं लगती, बेशक व्यक्ति जितना भी प्रभावशाली व्यक्तित्व वाला हो, दौलत वाला हो, रुतबे वाला हो, ऐसा व्यक्ति हर जगह अपने धन दौलत का प्रदर्शन करके भी लोगों के दिलों में वो स्थान नहीं बना पाता, जो एक साधारण से दिखने वाला व्यक्ति जिसके पास कुछ हो या ना हो वो अपनी मीठी बोली से मीठी वाणी से सबका मन मोह लेता है, सभी के दिलों में अपना स्थान बना लेता है. लोग सदैव अच्छी यादों को अच्छे से सम्भाल कर रखना पसंद करते हैं. हमें भी कोयल पक्षी ही बनने का प्रयास करना चाहिए।

The cuckoo makes a sound
It sings sweet songs
With its melodious voice
Everyone is pleased
Listening to the cuckoo’s voice
Sweet dishes are made at home
Everyone loves it
Everyone respects it
It doesn’t cost any money to speak sweet words
This is what the cuckoo teaches us
To weigh before speaking
The most beloved bird is the cuckoo
Wherever it goes
The heart starts dancing
When ‘Deep’ showers love
KOYAL
Often when people hear a voice that melts honey in our ears, that goes straight from the ears to the heart, then someone might say, your voice is like that of a cuckoo, you speak very sweetly, you speak sweetly, you sing very sweetly, etc. We compare that voice to the name of a bird that the whole world knows as the cuckoo. In English, this bird is called cuckoo.
The physical structure of a crow and a cuckoo looks almost the same, but the biggest difference between the two is their voice. Yes, on one hand, the crow is rebuked and chased away by everyone because of its harsh voice, while on the other hand, the cuckoo bird becomes the darling of all creatures and humans because of its sweet voice. Though they look the same, yet the crow is unable to make a place in people’s hearts even after a million attempts, while the cuckoo becomes everyone’s favourite because of its voice. There is one thing to learn here and that is that everyone likes sweet speech, no one likes bitter speech. No matter how influential a person is, how rich or influential he is, such a person is unable to make that place in people’s hearts even after flaunting his wealth everywhere, which an ordinary looking person who may or may not have anything, charms everyone with his sweet speech and sweet words, makes his place in everyone’s hearts. People always like to preserve good memories well. We should also try to become like the cuckoo bird.
