छोटा बीज, बड़ा सपना
बहुत समय पहले की बात है, एक हरे-भरे जंगल में एक छोटा सा बीज मिट्टी में गिरा। वह बहुत छोटा था, लेकिन उसका सपना बहुत बड़ा था — वह जंगल का सबसे ऊँचा और मजबूत पेड़ बनना चाहता था।
बीज हर दिन सूरज से कहता, “मुझे थोड़ा उजाला दो, मैं बड़ा बनना चाहता हूँ।”
बारिश से कहता, “मुझे थोड़ी नमी दो, ताकि मैं जड़ें फैला सकूं।”
और मिट्टी से कहता, “मुझे सहारा दो, ताकि मैं खड़ा रह सकूं।”
धीरे-धीरे बीज अंकुर बन गया। फिर एक नन्हा पौधा। लेकिन उसका (बीज) रास्ता इतना भी आसान नहीं था। कभी तेज हवा आती, कभी जानवर उस पर पैर रख देते, कभी धूप बहुत तेज होती।
कई बार वह छोटा सा नन्हा सा पौधा थक जाता और सोचता, “क्या मैं सच में पेड़ बन पाऊँगा?”
लेकिन हर बार वह खुद से कहता:
“अगर मैं रुक जाऊँगा, तो कभी नहीं जान पाऊँगा कि मैं कितना ऊँचा उठ सकता हूँ।”
समय बीतता गया, और वो छोटा सा दिखने वाला बीज एक मजबूत और विशाल पेड़ बन गया। उसकी छांव में अब पक्षी बैठते थे, बच्चे खेलते थे, और थके हुए राहगीर/ पथिक/मुसाफिर आराम किया करते थे।

“कोई भी कार्य छोटा या बड़ा नहीं होता फिर चाहे वो किसी का सपना हो या फिर कुछ और। कोई भी सपना बड़ा नहीं होता, अगर हम धैर्य, मेहनत और विश्वास से उसे सींचते रहें।”

बहुत समय पहले की बात है, जब धरती हरियाली से ढकी हुई थी, नदियाँ कल-कल बहती थीं, और हवा में फूलों की खुशबू घुली रहती थी। एक विशाल जंगल था जहाँ हर प्रकार के पेड़-पौधे, जानवर, पक्षी और कीड़े-मकोड़े रहते थे। यह जंगल अपने सौंदर्य और संतुलन के लिए प्रसिद्ध था।
लेकिन इसी जंगल की ज़मीन पर, एक बहुत ही छोटा सा बीज गिरा। वह बीज ना तो दिखने में खास था, ना ही किसी को उससे कोई उम्मीद थी। लेकिन उस बीज के दिल में एक सपना था—वह जंगल का सबसे ऊँचा और मजबूत पेड़ बनना चाहता था।
बीज का सपना
जब वह बीज ज़मीन में गिरा, उसने ऊपर आसमान की ओर देखा और सोचने लगा — “क्या मैं भी कभी उन ऊँचे पेड़ों जैसा बन पाऊँगा? क्या मेरी भी जड़ें इतनी गहरी और शाखाएँ इतनी फैली होंगी?”
दूसरे बीज हँसते थे। कोई कहता, “इतना बड़ा सपना मत देख, तू तो मिट्टी में ही गुम हो जाएगा।”
कोई कहता, “तेरे नसीब में सिर्फ अंधेरा है।”
लेकिन वह छोटा बीज किसी की बातों में नहीं आया। उसने खुद से कहा, “अगर मैं सपना देख सकता हूँ, तो उसे सच भी कर सकता हूँ।”
सूरज से पहली बात
बीज ने सूरज से कहा,
“हे सूरज! मुझे थोड़ी सी रोशनी दो। मैं एक दिन बहुत बड़ा बनूंगा।”
सूरज मुस्कराया और बोला,
“तू छोटा है, लेकिन तेरा हौसला बड़ा है। मैं तुझे अपनी किरणें दूँगा, लेकिन आगे का रास्ता तुझे खुद तय करना होगा।”
बीज ने सिर हिलाया। उसे पता था कि सपनों को सच करने का रास्ता आसान नहीं होता, लेकिन उसका विश्वास मजबूत था।
बारिश और मिट्टी की मदद
एक दिन काले बादल छा गए। बीज ने बारिश से कहा,
“मुझे थोड़ी सी नमी चाहिए। मेरी जड़ों को जीवन चाहिए।”
बारिश ने उसे धीरे-धीरे भिगोया और बोली,
“सपने अगर सच्चे हों, तो प्रकृति भी मदद करती है। ले, यह नमी तेरे भीतर जीवन भर देगी।”
मिट्टी ने भी बीज से कहा,
“तू मेरे अंदर छुप जा, मैं तुझे सहारा दूँगी। अंधेरे से डरना मत, यही तेरा पहला इम्तिहान है।”
अंधेरे का संघर्ष
बीज अब मिट्टी के अंदर था। अंधेरा था, सन्नाटा था, और अकेलापन भी। कभी-कभी वह डर जाता। सोचता — “कहीं मैं यहीं रह न जाऊँ? कहीं मेरी साँसें यहीं खत्म न हो जाएँ?”
लेकिन फिर उसके अंदर से आवाज आती,
“हर बड़ा पेड़ पहले अंधेरे में ही उगता है।”
और उस दिन बीज ने खुद से वादा किया — “मैं रुकूंगा नहीं।”
अंकुर का पहला कदम
धीरे-धीरे बीज से एक नन्हा अंकुर फूटा। मिट्टी को चीरते हुए वह ऊपर निकला। जब पहली बार उसने सूरज की रोशनी देखी, तो उसकी आँखें चौंधिया गईं। लेकिन फिर वो मुस्कराया। उसने कहा,
“यह शुरुआत है, मंज़िल नहीं।”
जंगल के जानवर उसकी ओर देखते और कहते,
“यह क्या कर लेगा? इतनी ठंडी रातों में तो यह सूख जाएगा।”
लेकिन छोटा पौधा उनकी बातों पर ध्यान नहीं देता। उसका ध्यान बस बढ़ने पर था।
मुसीबतों की शुरुआत
एक दिन तेज आँधी आई। छोटे पौधे की टहनी झुक गई। वह काँपने लगा। वह सोचने लगा — “शायद मैं कमजोर हूँ। शायद मैं टूट जाऊँ।”
तभी पास की एक बूढ़ी घास ने कहा,
“तू झुक सकता है, लेकिन टूट मत। तू जितना झुकेगा, उतना मजबूत होगा।”
यह बात पौधे के दिल में उतर गई। उसने आँधी से डरना छोड़ दिया।
एक दिन एक खरगोश खेलते हुए उस पौधे पर चढ़ गया और उसकी एक टहनी टूट गई। पौधे को दर्द हुआ, लेकिन उसने हार नहीं मानी। उसने कहा,
“अगर एक टहनी गई है, तो दो नई उगाऊँगा।”
धीरे-धीरे बढ़ता विकास
समय बीतता गया। मौसम बदलते गए। कभी गर्मी की तपन, कभी बारिश की बौछार, कभी ठंडी हवाएँ और कभी पतझड़ का मौसम। लेकिन वह छोटा पौधा हर मौसम को झेलता गया।
उसकी जड़ें गहरी होने लगीं। उसकी टहनियाँ फैलने लगीं। अब उसे जंगल के कुछ पेड़ पहचानने लगे थे। एक पुराने बरगद ने उससे कहा,
“बेटा, तू अब बड़ा हो रहा है। लेकिन याद रखना, जितना ऊँचा उठो, उतना विनम्र रहो।”
पौधा सिर झुकाकर बोला,
“आपका आशीर्वाद चाहिए दादा जी। मैं केवल बड़ा ही नहीं, अच्छा पेड़ बनना चाहता हूँ।”
पक्षियों की पहली उड़ान
जब पौधा एक छोटा पेड़ बन गया, तो एक दिन दो चिड़ियाँ आईं और उसकी शाखा पर बैठ गईं। उन्होंने कहा,
“क्या हम यहाँ घोंसला बना सकते हैं?”
पेड़ मुस्कराया और बोला,
“यह पेड़ सिर्फ मेरा नहीं, अब सबका है। यहाँ सबका स्वागत है।”
धीरे-धीरे और पक्षी आए, फिर गिलहरियाँ आईं, फिर तितलियाँ और मधुमक्खियाँ। सबने उस पेड़ को अपना ठिकाना बना लिया।
मंज़िल का एहसास
कई सालों बाद, वह पेड़ जंगल के सबसे ऊँचे और मजबूत पेड़ों में गिना जाने लगा। उसकी छाया में अब थके हुए जानवर आराम करते थे। बच्चे उसके नीचे खेलते थे। पंछी उसकी शाखाओं पर गाते थे।
लेकिन वह पेड़ कभी घमंडी नहीं हुआ। वह आज भी कहता,
“मैं वही छोटा बीज हूँ, जो कभी अंधेरे से डरता था। लेकिन मैंने हार नहीं मानी।”
अंतिम संदेश
एक दिन कुछ बच्चे पेड़ के नीचे बैठे और पूछने लगे,
“हे पेड़! तुम इतने बड़े कैसे बने?”
पेड़ ने कहा,
“मैं बड़ा इसलिए नहीं बना क्योंकि मैं सबसे खास था। मैं बड़ा इसलिए बना क्योंकि मैंने कभी रुकना नहीं सीखा। मैं हर आँधी, हर बारिश, हर दर्द को एक सीढ़ी की तरह इस्तेमाल करता गया।”
बच्चों ने उसकी बात सुनी और मन ही मन वादा किया कि वे भी कभी हार नहीं मानेंगे।
कहानी से क्या सीख मिलती है?
- सपना छोटा हो या बड़ा, उसे देखने का हक हर किसी को है।
- मुसीबतें आएंगी, लेकिन वही हमें मजबूत बनाती हैं।
- धैर्य, मेहनत और विश्वास से असंभव को भी संभव किया जा सकता है।
- हमेशा विनम्र रहो, चाहे कितने भी ऊँचे क्यों न बन जाओ।

Small Seed, Big Dream
Long ago, a small seed fell into the soil in a lush forest. It was very small, but it had a big dream — it wanted to become the tallest and strongest tree in the forest.
The seed would say to the sun every day, “Give me some light, I want to grow big.”
It would say to the rain, “Give me some moisture, so that I can spread my roots.”
And it would say to the soil, “Give me support, so that I can stand.”
Slowly the seed became a sprout. Then a tiny plant. But its (seed’s) path was not that easy. Sometimes strong winds would come, sometimes animals would step on it, sometimes the sun would be very strong.
Many times that tiny little plant would get tired and think, “Will I really be able to become a tree?”
But every time he would say to himself:
“If I stop, I will never know how high I can rise.”
Time passed, and that small looking seed became a strong and huge tree. Birds now sat in its shade, children played, and tired passersby/travellers rested.
Moral of the Story:
“No work is small or big, whether it is someone’s dream or something else. No dream is big, if we keep watering it with patience, hard work and faith.”

It was a long time ago, when the earth was covered with greenery, rivers flowed, and the fragrance of flowers mingled in the air. There was a huge forest where all kinds of trees, plants, animals, birds and insects lived. This forest was famous for its beauty and balance.
But on the ground of this forest, a very small seed fell. That seed was neither special in appearance, nor did anyone have any expectations from it. But that seed had a dream in its heart—it wanted to become the tallest and strongest tree in the forest.
The seed’s dream
When that seed fell into the ground, it looked up at the sky and started thinking—”Will I ever be able to become like those tall trees? Will my roots also be so deep and my branches so spread out?”
The other seeds laughed. Some would say, “Don’t dream so big, you will get lost in the soil.”
Some would say, “You are destined to have only darkness.”
But that small seed did not listen to anyone. It said to itself, “If I can dream, I can also make it come true.”
First talk to the sun
The seed said to the sun, “O sun! Give me a little light. I will become very big one day.”
The sun smiled and said,
“You are small, but your courage is big. I will give you my rays, but you will have to decide the path ahead yourself.”
The seed nodded. It knew that the path to make dreams come true is not easy, but its faith was strong.
Help of rain and soil
One day dark clouds covered the sky. The seed said to the rain,
“I need a little moisture. My roots need life.”
The rain slowly drenched it and said,
“If the dreams are true, then nature also helps. Take this moisture, it will give you a full life.”
The soil also said to the seed,
“Hide inside me, I will support you. Do not be afraid of darkness, this is your first test.”
The struggle of darkness
The seed was now inside the soil. There was darkness, silence, and loneliness too. Sometimes it would get scared. It would think – “What if I am left here? What if my breath ends here?”
But then a voice would come from within him,
“Every big tree first grows in darkness.”
And that day the seed promised itself – “I will not stop.”
The first step of the sprout
Slowly a tiny sprout sprouted from the seed. It came out tearing through the soil. When it saw the sunlight for the first time, its eyes were dazzled. But then it smiled. It said,
“This is the beginning, not the destination.”
The animals of the forest looked at it and said,
“What will it do? It will dry up in such cold nights.”
But the small plant did not pay attention to their words. Its focus was only on growing.
The beginning of troubles
One day a strong storm came. The branch of the small plant bent. It started trembling. It started thinking – “Maybe I am weak. Maybe I will break.”
Then an old grass nearby said,
“You can bend, but do not break. The more you bend, the stronger you will become.”
This thing touched the heart of the plant. It stopped being afraid of storms.
One day a rabbit climbed on that plant while playing and one of its branches broke. The plant felt pain, but it did not give up. It said,
“If one branch is gone, I will grow two new ones.”
Gradually increasing growth
Time passed. Seasons kept changing. Sometimes the heat of summer, sometimes the showers of rain, sometimes the cold winds and sometimes the autumn season. But that small plant kept enduring every season.
Its roots started becoming deep. Its branches started spreading. Now it started recognizing some trees of the forest. An old banyan tree said to it,
“Son, you are growing up now. But remember, the higher you rise, the more humble you should be.”
The plant bowed its head and said,
“I need your blessings grandfather. I want to become not only a big tree but also a good tree.”
The first flight of birds
When the plant became a small tree, one day two birds came and sat on its branch. They said,
“Can we make a nest here?”
The tree smiled and said,
“This tree is not just mine, it belongs to everyone now. Everyone is welcome here.”
Slowly more birds came, then squirrels, then butterflies and bees. Everyone made that tree their home.
Realization of destination
After many years, that tree came to be counted among the tallest and strongest trees in the forest. Tired animals now rested in its shade. Children played under it. Birds used to sit on its branches.
Last message
One day some children sat under the tree and asked,
“Hey tree! How did you become so big?”
The tree said,
“I did not become big because I was the most special. I became big because I never learned to stop. I kept using every storm, every rain, every pain as a ladder.”
The children listened to him and promised themselves that they too would never give up.
What do we learn from the story?
Everyone has the right to dream, whether small or big.
Problems will come, but they are what make us strong.
With patience, hard work and faith, even the impossible can be made possible.
Always stay humble, no matter how high you become.
Never forget your struggle, they are your real roots.
