Q: शर्बत बनाते समय पहले पानी में यदि बर्फ डालकर चीनी घोलें तो चीनी देर से क्यों घुलती है? / Q: हीरे को गलाना कठिन क्यों है? / Q: यदि गमलों में अधिक जल डाल दिया जाए तो पौधे क्यों मर जाते हैं?
प्रश्नः शर्बत बनाते समय पहले पानी में यदि बर्फ डालकर चीनी घोलें तो चीनी देर से क्यों घुलती है?
उत्तर: किसी भी ठोस वस्तु की विलेयता उसके (Temprature) अर्थात ताप पर निर्भर करती है। पानी में बर्फ डाल देने से तापमान कम हो जाता है जिससे पानी की विलायकता अर्थात (Solubility) भी कम हो जाती है। यही कारण है कि पानी में पहले यदि बर्फ को पहले बाद में चीनी मिलाई जाए तो चीनी बहुत देर बाद घुल पाती है। ऐसी स्थिति में हमें एक चाहिए और ध्यान में भी यह बात रखनी चाहिए कि शर्बत बनाते समय हमेशा पानी में पहले चीनी मिलाकर ही बाद में बर्फ डालनी चाहिए। जिससे बर्फ आसानी से पानी में घुल जाएगी और चीनी घुलने में लगने वाला समय भी बच जायेगा।
प्रश्न: हीरे को गलाना कठिन क्यों है?
उत्तर: हीरा एक बहुमूल्य/मूल्यवान (Valuable) धातु है, जिसके आभूषण शरीर की शोभा बढ़ाते हैं और व्यक्तित्व में चार चाँद लगा देते हैं। लेकिन क्या आप यह जानते हैं कि हीरे को गलाना आसान नहीं होता यह कठिन क्यों होता है? दरअसल, इस धरती पर अब तक ज्ञात सर्वाधिक कठोर धातु में से एक धातु धातु ‘हीरा’ ही है। हीरे को गलाकर द्रव (Liquid) में नहीं बदला जा सकता है। हीरे को गलाने के लिए समुद्र तल पर पृथ्वी पर पड़ने वाले वायु दाब का सौ लाख गुना दाब चाहिए। इतना अधिक दाब उत्पन्न करना बड़ी मुश्किल बात है। अतः हीरे को गलाना आसान कार्य नहीं होता यह बेहद कठिन कार्य होता है।
प्रश्न: यदि गमलों में अधिक जल डाल दिया जाए तो पौधे क्यों मर जाते हैं?
उत्तरः हम अपने घरों में घर को सुन्दर आकर्षक दिखने के लिए बालकनी में फूल पौधे लगाने के लिए खूबसूरत गमलों का अवश्य प्रयोग करते होंगे। गमलों में पौधे लगाने के लिए उनमें मिट्टी रखनी अत्यन्त आवश्यक है। इस मिट्टी में वायु भरी रहती है। यदि गमले में आवश्यकता से अधिक पानी डाल दिया जाए, तो मिट्टी में उपस्थित वायु का स्थान पानी ले लेता है। और आप यह बात पहले से जानते ही होंगे वायु सभी जीव जंतु, पेड़ पौधे सभी के लिए कितनी उपयोगी होती है। अतः पौधों को श्वसन (respiration) के लिए वायु/हवा (Air) नहीं मिल पाती और इस वजह से पौधे मर जाते हैं।

Answer: Solubility of any solid substance depends on its temperature. By adding ice to water, the temperature decreases, which also reduces the solubility of water. This is the reason that if ice is added to water first and then sugar is added later, then sugar dissolves after a long time. In such a situation, we should also keep in mind that while making sherbet, we should always add sugar to water first and then add ice. This will make the ice dissolve easily in water and the time taken for sugar to dissolve will also be saved.
Question: Why is it difficult to melt a diamond?
Answer: Diamond is a valuable metal, whose ornaments enhance the beauty of the body and add charm to the personality. But do you know that melting a diamond is not easy, why is it difficult? Actually, one of the hardest metals known on this earth is ‘Diamond’. Diamond cannot be converted into liquid by melting it. To melt a diamond, pressure of one hundred lakh times of the air pressure on earth at sea level is required. It is very difficult to generate such high pressure. Therefore, melting a diamond is not an easy task, it is a very difficult task.
Question: If more water is put in the pots, then why do the plants die?
Answer: We must be using beautiful pots to plant flowers in the balcony to make our house look beautiful and attractive. It is very important to keep soil in the pots to plant plants. This soil is filled with air. If more water than required is put in the pot, then water takes the place of air present in the soil. And you must already know how useful air is for all living beings, trees and plants. Therefore, plants are not able to get air for respiration and because of this the plants die.
